Since turning 67 John has noticed a change: He is still mentally fit but is noticing that he is getting more and more forgetful. “That is absolutely normal”, says John’s doctor, “Maybe it is, but to me it is really noticeable”, thinks John.

Since retiring he has started to spent more time with friends, hiking and enjoying time without the work schedule that had previously structured and dictated their lives. In order to keep his house clean whenever he is on tour, John has started to look into cleaning roboters. These circular machines could clean her floors while he is meeting his friends -  or on any given day really -  whenever he wants them to.

Through researching these cleaning roboters John has stumbled upon the topic of smart home appliances. There are a lot of advantages to appliances like the cleaning roboters – there even are gadgets for the oven that can turn it off, should John ever forget to do so. They could ease his mind and make sure he can enjoy free time thoroughly.

John is getting more and more intrigued, but he is also wary. John is asking some questions anyone would have when thinking about buying smart home appliances:
“These appliances cost a lot of money. I don’t want to spend my money on some silly gadget and I also don’t want to hand over sensitive information so freely.
What advantages and disadvantages are there to smart home appliances?
Should I, shouldn’t I?”
